Summer is too long....

That is something I honestly never thought I would say. I love summer, but this year it is just not as much fun. Hubby deployed, 2 kids who want to do nothing but argue (thankfully, they are not physical - most of the time). FatBoy is great, but he can't take the heat, so we can't hang out at the pool like we did last year. The water has been too cold for him to get in it, so all we can do is sit and bake while the other 2 play. Not fun!

I am ready for this to be all over. I am ready to leave for TX to visit family, which is looking like it will be another day after I was hoping for, maybe 2. I still have to come back at the same time to get the dogs out of the kennel though. Oh well, enough of my pity party....Off to get some more of the house clean, at least if I can accomplish that, I won't have too much to do when I come back!!!

Sadly, I am just not good at keeping this updated. I am not a good writer, but that's ok with me I have decided. I used to be....but things just seem to get inthe way. Like the fact that my computer shares the room with the baby. Makes it hard to come in here when he is sleeping!

Summer has began and I am all ready regretting school being out. DG and Speed have been at each others throats like wild pack dogs and driving me crazy! VBS starts tomorrow so there will be a little quiet around the house in the mornings, at least.

FatBoy is now 3 months old and has earned the name FatBoy! At 2 mos he was all ready 14 lbs and 25 in long. He now giggles happily and rolls over and is working on sitting up! He still falls over though. I have all ready put him in the exersaucer because he constantly wants to stand up and my arms are tired!

Here is to Daddy, who we all miss greatly and can't wait till he comes home!

BTW, FatBoy looks almost exactly Speed when he was a baby!

Okay, I don't understand how to make my last post have the publish date I actually published it on. I wrote it like 2 weeks ago and then went back to add pics and such - but it posted as the original date I wrote it. Does anyone know how to get it to show the date it was actually posted? There is a new pic of the baby and one of my daughter too!

Busy, Busy!

I can't believe how fast time is going all ready! I have a little one who is 6 weeks old now, and he is huge. He weighs over 12 lbs all ready. He has the cutest smile and is attempting to laugh though he hasn't quite done it yet.

DG started softball and has been doing awesome! She hit the ball everytime she went to bat and stopped the ball almost every time it came towards her. We just have to work on her throwing a little. She throws like...*gasp* a girl!!! Yes, I have issues with this as I used to play burn out with the boys and I won! We will be working on this :)

Speed has started his second season of lacrosse and scored in his first game!! He is doing fantastic! He is really enjoying this season so much more than last years. I don't have any real good pics of Speed yet, because for some reason during his games is when Fatboy needs to be fed and wants attention. I will have to get DG to help out with the camera at the next game!

We have had family here for 2 weeks now and still have a week and a half to go. First my mom and sister with nephew were here for a week. Now GQ's parents are here, with his grandma. Unfortunately, she is here with sad reason. Her sister passed away and she and my FIL are flying to England for the funeral. So it is just my MIL for a week or so. I hope to get some flowers planted and other small things around the house.

GQ will also be deploying again soon. A whole summer with no daddy!!! I am hoping we get to fly home for a couple of weeks, as my dad also got married and I didn't get to go to that! Anyway, not looking forward to a summer alone! He will get home right before school starts next year, we think...

Crossfit is going good. I am frustrated that I can't do what I was doing before, but I guess a whole 4 weeks off and only certain movements before that for like 6 weeks will do that to you! I can still do my pull ups though. I have a group of ladies that is going to workout with me while hubby is gone, so that should be fun!!!! I can still do 75 lbs in a press, but my max is 80, so hopefully things like that will go back up soon! One of these days I want to get certified!!!! Oh and one of the girls from our home gym made it to the games!!!! She so rocks!!!

This is our dog, Gunny, trying to get a closer look, or rather lick. :) He is an Olde English Bulldogge and weighs 100 lbs. His head is bigger than the whole baby almost!

This is the comforter that my sister designed and my mom made for FatBoy's crib. The next one is the dust ruffle - please ignore the toys that are coming out from under the crib, they need a new storage place!

2 weeks :)

So FatBoy is 2 weeks old today and he is such a good baby! He has taken to nursing easily and we have recently been able to put him in his crib in between feedings at night! He is very calm and just happy to look around at all the lovely new sights and sounds in the house. I am so blessed to have such a sweet little boy.

The rest of the story of his birth:

This time was much easier than it was with Speed. I only had to push about 8 times (15 minutes vs. 4 hours). Unfortunatley, he got stuck coming out. It is called shoulder dislocatia (sp?). His left shoulder was stuck under my pelvic bone. It took a couple of minutes to get him out and by the time they did, he was purple. My Dr had the presence of mind to warn me about this happening beforehand though so I wasn't totally freaking out, just a little bit!!! Because he was so hard to get out, the stuff in his nasal cavities and airways was hard to get out so they had to intibate him. I could at least hear him crying around the tube though so I knew he was here!

He spent that night and the next day in the NICU for observation. They had to make sure his shoulder was OK because the dislocatia can cause nerve damage. They said it usually goes away, but not always. Well we are really lucky, as he does not show any signs that he has any nerve damage! They also put him on an IV for food. They wanted me to wait to feed him.

The whole family was able to go visit him that evening, but I had to wait till the next morning before I could hold him and feed him. After I started feeding, they had to wean him off the IV, and so about 4 am the next night I got to finally have him in the room with me! He is perfectly fine and healthy, and adorable :) I am not a little biased or anything, though. I plan on getting some pictures of him today to add to this a little later.

One of his aunts and a cousin are coming in a couple of weeks to visit us all, and maybe Grammy too (fingers crossed).

Oh and I got the custom made crib dust ruffle and comforter that Grammy (my mom) made for him in the mail yesterday. I will have to get pictures of that too. She is still working on the panels for the windows and I still have to go get stuff for the walls. Yes I know I am a slacker, but I had to have the crib stuff to match wall decor too first! Anyway!!

Thank you for all your lovely and sweet comments! Sara, I am going to have to go on a search for baby crossfit stuff!! Oh and speaking of Crossfit, I have 2 more weeks before I am allowed to workout again! I can't wait!!!!!! Of course I am going to be really sore at first!!! That part I can wait for, he he!

FatBoy Arrives :)

So the long awaited baby is finally here! He is a great baby. We had a little scare at the actual birth, but I will write about that later! He is perfectly healthy though and doing awesome. I have recovered rather quickly, way faster than with Speed. Though FatBoy was bigger!
